A open letter to Advani..

Dear Advaniji,

This is with respect to your speech during the world cup victory on IBN7 channel. I say speech, as Rajdeep requested a few sound bytes from you and not a speech and infact was trying to stop you too.

I was quite surprised by the desperation you revealed, in trying to grab the opportunity and indulging in nationalist and patriotic jingoism. It was nauseating and the unfortunately the only jarring note, which was otherwise an unforgettable day in most Indian’s life. Your preachy note to take forward the national pride was pseudo-patriotic to say the least.

The Indian National Team has by this win proved, that irrespective of religion, caste and creed it is only focus, determination and the grooming of right talent along with some stellar leadership that is willing to take some risks, is the only way ahead. Infact I would go the extent of suggesting that the political parties of India need to take lessons from this win about teamwork, religious tolerance etc and not the other way around.

I think it is time now for parties such as yours, to understand the pulse of the common man or else you may reach the numbers that existed pre-1984 in parliament.

Buried….the Movie and 13 People buried alive in Libya…

Watched over the weekend, the movie “Buried”. Ryan Renolds excels as a US truck driver abducted in Iraq and buried alive in a coffin. Hence it came as a shock when i read today on rediff.com about people being buried alive in Gaddafi’s compound who were thankfully saved by the protestors when the house was run over by them.

Eerie, when real life imitates reel life…but the fact is that while watching the movie the thought did cross my mind, what if a terrorist were to watch this movie and get this idea of torture and force a live video from a victim…

Watch at your own risk..

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan arrested and released..

It’s really creepy when real life resembles reel life. A Gazal Singer of a nation, perceived as a enemy neighbour, is arrested for trying to smuggle out currency. Sounds familiar? Reminds of Naseerudin Shah’s character from the cult cop caper Sarfarosh.

The singer is the son of the iconic Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, and it is definitely a terrible shame for the lovers of their music and millions of fans worldwide.

I am sure this must be one of those moments – where in human temptation defeats common sense. However the fact that the DRI managed to catch him red-handed, is also very surprising, considering that many such leave our shores regularly to deposit in their swiss bank accounts. So did someone squeal on Rahat. maybe a jealous rival, or was he setup by someone in Bollywood?

It’s anyone’s guess…

Raosaheb Shekhawat to contest from Amravati..

It pays to be the president of india’s son. The ruling party of India decides to give a ticket to raosaheb and fail to see any integrity issue in the same.
Will somebody from the "shameless class" raise a hue and cry over the same? Do not think so as dynasty rules supreme in Indian Politics.
Aankhon main na koi sharm, na koi gum, phir bhi hai neta ki pehchaan….
Is desh main mere bhai bolo mera bharat mahaan…

Shivsena at it again!

And they won’t stop! Sanjay Raut says that the police need to take care of the rowdy elements in the protest rally.
This was not to protest the SEZ plan, but was a demo of things to come if the Srikrishna Report is implemented! It is to convey that Mumbai will burn if Sena’s leaders are touched.
Vilasrao will surely not touch the sena patriach but will dilly dally the matter till the public memory fades away. Udhhav forgets that its still Balasaheb’s charisma that’s getting him the votes and not himself. He will loose whatever goodwill he has, if this continues.
R.R.Patil, the watchdog is sleeping it seems…

From APJ Abdul Kalam’s Farewell Address…

Hope the politician’s make a note of it too….
